There are no shortage of Android games but   you won’t find some of the best of them in the Android   Market. Check out this list of apps that are available at third party stores, but not on Google’s app store.

SPORE – Based on EA’s popular PC game by the same name, in Spore you evolve your species from a microscopic organism into progressively more complex creature. You modify the shape, color, and add on things like spikes and mouths to better survive in the harsh, wet atmosphere of the primordial goo. You win these evolutions by obtaining DNA. How do you obtain DNA, you ask? BY EATING EVERYTHING!!

Sid Meier’s Civilization IV: War Of Two Cities – You build units, advance technologies, and basically try to dominate your opponents with units ranging from axemen to stealth bombers. The battleground is a 2D arena with 1 opponent occupying each side. Basically you build different kinds of units to advance your front line towards the enemies base. The game is won when you take over the other base.

SimCity Metropolis – If you’re familiar with the SimCity franchise(and who isn’t?), you’ll be familiar with the gameplay of SimCity Metropolis. You shape your starting town into a giant metropolis. The graphics are great and the play is solid. You’ll almost forget that you’re on a mobile phone while playing this expansive remake of a classic.

MONOPOLY Here & Now – You can be the next Trump all from the comfort of your mobile phone! Alright, perhaps not, but it sure feels like that in this modern reimagining of Monopoly. All of the famous properties and cards are replaced with modern equivalents.  You trade in assets like Waikiki Beach or Fenway Park. This easy-to-play game is a favorite of mine when waiting around in an airport.

Tetris – Tetris has been a gaming icon since it was released for the first Gameboy handheld. To this day, I still can’t get the hypnotic theme music out of my head. The theme has been redone in this new Android version into a kind of techno-dance mix. You’ll be jamming along as you try to match the pieces and clear rows for the best score.

Handango  has all of these great games and more plus a lot more Android apps. For the latest and greatest apps for your Android phone, check it out!
